There are two questions I get asked most: Why gay novels, and where did you get the name A. T. Weaver. In 2003, I met almost 3,000 gay men via a television show and Yahoo group. They educated me regarding the problems gay people have regarding their rights. They also introduced me to gay movies and books. So many of the stories have such tragic endings, that I decided to write about gay men who love one another and how they are really no different from straight people. As to the name: About twenty-five years ago, I joined a group that recreates the Middle Ages. In that group, I am known as Alisaundre, a nickname of which is Alix. I do dying, spinning and weaving. When I set up my first email account, every combination of my legal name had been taken and I finally came up with alixtheweaver. I didn't want to embarass my children by using their surname on a gay novel. Thus A.(Alix) T.(The) Weaver.

This was a wonderful book to read. Very well written and it is something that is not only possible but it is very much something that we see in the real world. Thank you Ms. Weaver for putting so much work into this book.

Very sweet, changed my life

I liked this book. It was a very sweet story, probably because I identified with Danny a lot. I made my decision to come out after reading this book.

Really enjoyed this one

Really loved this book, much more than I thought I would considering the age difference between the two main characters. I loved how sweet Mike was to Danny and how much they both wanted a loving relationship to form. I was just a little annoyed at how much Danny was influenced by his parents opinion of his relationship but again, I had to consider how old Danny was and how much importance teenagers would place on having parental approval. There was a little too much coincidence at the end of the story with a plot point involving Mike's family but all in all a very satisfying book that I will read again

exactly what I'd wanted

I was hoping to find an authoritative technical book about the BSA Gold Star singles, and this is indeed such a book. The author was a BSA employee who was present during Gold Star development, and had access to real information. Here it is.

The book was expensive, but real information often is. I am happy to have this book.

Spread across 144 pages, the book covers all styles of house, from electro and fidget to minimal, soulful and progressive, and features illustrated walkthroughs using Logic, Cubase, Ableton and a variety of other softwares.

Written by Marc Adamo, the text is easy to read but packed with intricate details, giving you the feeling that you're being allowed unprecedented access to a world of programming secrets.

The chapters move through essential topics such as making beats and basslines and adding instruments, vocals and FX, but also touch on song structure, synthesis, mixing and mastering. There are also tips from big name producers and a bonus 500MB CD featuring 500MB of 24-bit WAVs taken from Sample Magic's excellent sample libraries.

The illustrations and walkthroughs really are fantastic, showing precise settings for instruments and plug-ins, plus suggested MIDI arrangements for beats, basslines and chords in different styles.

The only down-sides are the slightly thin cover and the fact that there are no audio files on the disc to reference the topics discussed in each chapter. These niggles aside, this is a great book that is essential reading for any house producers who want to fast-track their progress and get hundreds of tips in one place. Although the walkthroughs lean mainly towards making house music in Logic and Ableton, there are plenty of techniques relevant to all genres of electronic music.

Verdict: A superb book stuffed with intricate walkthroughs, illustrations and techniques. Essential reading.

Must read for beginners. Even amateurs can learn tips and tricks to help elevate their work flow. POOR DURABILITY

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 isn't the content. The content is awesome and it doesn't matter what DAW you use...it all translates pretty well. This is a perfect book for beginners-amateurs to get a huge jump start into the art of production. Many sample templates covering all house music genres. Little tips and tricks throughout that really helped elevate my game.

I just want to know what this guy was thinking making it the way he did...I understand a lot of the content couldn't fit properly into a vertical bound book...But WTF? Could have used a little more effort and thought in making it MORE DURABLE. It would be fine if it was bound properly. IF you really use this book a lot, the pages will start to fall out like butter. And then what? It can't sit on bookshelves. It is hard to store anywhere without damage. its not really efficient at all to use while producing cuz of the awkward size. Personally I think it should be remade and given for free for those who provide proof of purchase.

Other than that the print is HIGH quality and VERY legible. Honestly I wish it was just put together right so I wouldnt have to speak anything negative about it...but it really is a huge issue when the pages started falling out.

Great Book

Mine didn't have the Multimedia Redemption code, but Marc Adamo refereed me to the Sample Magic licensing and they fixed me up.

This is really a good read no matter the DAW. It's more music theory for house producers and points out the subtle details of house that I never realized. And I've been a House DJ for 25 Years.

After describing the sum of characteristics that make up the base house sound, Marc goes into detail on how to achieve those characteristics in modern day DAW's. He never starts speaking over the reader's head and seems mindful to pace everything carefully which is ironically also a quality of house music in general.

While I don't think this book stands on it's own in a EDM Librany, that's not it's purpose. This book has so many uses, spur inspiration, ideas, refine the mental workflow of creating music which is 90% of writers block.

Most importantly, it's nice to read theory from not just another producer, but a House producer. That common interest cannot be undervalued.

Great Resource For Aspiring Producers

Like the other reviewer said this book assumes that you have some basic knowledge in DAWs (like FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, etc.)

Visually, it's laid out in a very attractive way. The book itself looks amazing.
It goes over various things like getting various channels with different instruments to mesh together, various genres and what elements define that genre.

It also goes over making synths and has some interesting examples for you to plug in and try yourself. Between the pages of tips, tricks and guides there are insights from various big producers like Wolfgang Gartner which are always fun to read.

It also comes with a sample CD for you to use.

Great book, though I have to say hate the shape of the book itself.
As great as it looks, it's a "floppy long" style of book and doesn't really fit in a bookshelf. Floppy book + hard CD shoved in the back doesn't work too well IMO. But that's pretty much a non-issue.

This is one of THE BEST historical romances I have read in quite some time. I loved it! The instep cover of the book, featuring the dashingly handsome "Dark Prince" and Elizabeth seductively posed against the trunk of a tree amidst a forest backdrop is only the prelude to one HOT tale.

Elizabeth has been raised in a household of men headed by her father who thinks that women are "useless and stupid". Eager to escape her dreary existence in her father's household and resigned to the fact that no man would want her due to her freakish height, coltish limbs, and "witch's hair" - she resigns herself to a life among the sisters of St. Anne's convent. Unfortunately, her escort of holy friars have also been charged with escorting the bastard son of the king to the convent to do penance for the murder of a nobleman's daughter. Elizabeth finds herself disturbingly attracted to the notorious prince and finds his mannerisms to be at odds with his dangerous reputation. Elizabeth's quick wit and sharp tongue kept me greatly amused throughout the story.

Now on to our hero. The "Dark Prince" can best be summed up in three words: DEE-LISH-US!!! *three snaps and a neck twist I simply adored this man. I haven't read about a hero of his caliber in quite some time. He had it all - this man was pure sensuality rolled up in one darkly handsome package. *fanning self frantically

The secondary characters, namely Dame Joanna and Brother Adrian, make for a great story as well.

If you're looking for laughs, witty dialogue, snappy comebacks, steamy love scenes, lots of action and heartfelt romance - this book has it all!!!

A brilliant Medieval from the resident genius of romance

It's delightful to finally have another Anne Stuart Historical. Few writers are at home in both medieval sagas or dark, deadly erotic suspense as this writer is. But it has been a few years since we were treated to a Historical Romance from Stuart. Hope it won't be so long until another one comes along! Hidden Honor is simply wonderful.
Elizabeth of Bredon has grown up in a house full of men. Her father is an arrogant lout, given to using his ham size fists. Her mother died in childbirth, and since Elizabeth has been little more than a glorified servant to the fifty or so males in
her fathers castle. Never time for the things she wishes to learn, she spends her time hiding her intelligence from her less than fatherly father. So she views entering the convent of St. Anne as a suitable choice for her life. No more violent, brutish men, no more endless work for little appreciation. She tells herself she is blest being overly tall and with bright red hair, for no man has ever offered for her. Thus, she will not die in birthing endless children as her mother did.
However, her peaceful future is suddenly thrown in turmoil. She is to travel to St. Anne's in the company of knights escorting Prince William to do penance. The illegitimate son of King John, the Princeling is a worthless debauched excuse of
a man - inheriting all the King's bad traits. He killed a daughter of a Baron, and has been forced to do penance to atone.
Only, when Elizabeth meets Prince William, she's totally puzzled. He is nothing like she expected. For one, he is tall, but not as tall as most of the Plantagenets. He is dark, where they are known for their golden beauty. William is a strong man, a lean, calloused-hands warrior, yet there is a gentleness in him that disarms her. All rather at odds with the soft man who spends his time in drink and debauching maidens. She also notices the Prince is going prematurely bald. Or is he? Elizabeth knows she should hate the Prince, but finds she cannot resist his seriousness, the troubled look in the dark eyes, eyes that seem to look into her soul. He is so kind to her, on their journey, again, contrary to the tales of William being utterly cruel. Very sharp, Elizabeth becomes convinced this man may not be all he says he is.
Elizabeth discovers there is more than one man in the party wearing masks as their two-day journey takes a treacherous turn. Their group is attacked by men wearing Prince William's colors! Many of the monks traveling with Elizabeth and "William" are slaughtered. "William" and Elizabeth escape, but they must race against time to foil a murderous plot of revenge. Toss in a vow that keeps "William" and Elizabeth apart, one really wicked super-mean villain, you have Stuart at her best. With vivid, heart stealing characters, this is another keeper on your Stuart shelf! It's a richly textured medieval romance, with Stuart realistically portraying the realities of women's treatment in this period.
Stuart once again amazes me with her genius, her insight, her imagination. Don't ever stop, lass!

an enjoyable and unique romance...

I thoroughly enjoyed this unusual romance of a woman who seeks the convent because no one wants her and the fallen knight nee' monk who sees that she's special enough to forsake all to be with her.

I would have given this book five stars except for the repetitiveness of the idea that the heroine is "SOOO" unattractive. That got to be a little annoying after about the 10th time it's mentioned.

Very sensual, and overall well written.

no es tan util

No es un mal libro, pero si estas buscando tips para mejorar tu relación de pareja, este libro se queda corto, es muy redundante y poco ilustrativo.

Los primeros capítulos si dan buenos consejos que se pueden aplicar, pero al final se vuelve repetitivo y redundante en lo mismo.

Recomiendo comprarlo usado, porque vale la pena leerlo, pero no pagar mucho por el.
